
Silambarasan, who was supposed to play the hero in the Tamil version has backed out due to unknown reasons. Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the lead in the Hindi version. The rest of the cast will be finalised very soon. P.C. Sriram will be the cinematographer and A.R. Rahman will score the tunes for this film.
Mani Ratnam is basking in the success of his ’Raavanan’. The film has collected Rs 20 crore in the first day itself, a record for a Tamil film.
It was reported that Mani Ratnam, impressed by Simbu’s performance in ’Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’, decided to cast him in his next. Nobody knows why Simbu chose to give the go by to a Mani Ratnam film. Earlier, Simbu had shocked his fans by opting out of KV anand’s ’Ko’. The actor is now in London in connection with the filming of his ’Poda Podi’.
